Unfold Culture ("we", "us") operates the Toolbox web application and is based in Germany. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your information. We process personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / DSGVO).

1. Data We Collect

  • Account information - your email address, name, and an encrypted password.
  • Usage data - including chat conversations with our AI assistant.
  • Authentication data - session tokens used to keep you signed in.
  • Newsletter / launch list - your email address and consent record when you subscribe to launch updates.

2. Legal Basis for Processing

We rely on performance of a contract to provide our services, and on our legitimate interest to improve the service and communicate with you. For marketing and launch emails, we rely on your consent, collected via a double opt-in process and which you may withdraw at any time.

3. Third-Party Service Providers

We work with the following processors, each handling a specific function:

  • Supabase - database and authentication services.
  • Paddle - payment processing as Merchant of Record.
  • Mistral AI - powers the chatbot / AI assistant feature.
  • Vercel - global application hosting.
  • Brevo - email delivery and management of our newsletter / launch list.

4. Your Rights Under the GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Request corrections to inaccurate data;
  • Request deletion of your data;
  • Export your information (data portability);
  • Object to certain processing; and
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

5. Data Protection Measures

We use encryption of data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and maintain access controls to protect your information from unauthorized access.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained until you request deletion. Payment records are kept for approximately 7 years, as required by law.

7. Cookies

We use only essential authentication and session cookies. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
